I’m in my second year of membership with Propeller Gallery and am very much appreciating its atmosphere; so individually creative and so collectively supportive. The variety of styles, techniques, media, themes in the artist-run exhibitions offer wide-awakening to the power of creation.
I have painted since childhood and have always appreciated poetry as its literary equivalent. Neither is simply illustration or narrative but more a heart-and-soul awakening effort that a viewer/reader interprets personally rather than factually. I’m often inspired by poetry for serial painting, sometimes simply for a title – as with this painting, titled with words by poet e.e.cummings.
