Recently, I came across my Letter of Intent to PCVA’s Selection Committee, dated, June 14, 2012, requesting consideration for membership. Naturally, I was pleased to be accepted as a New Member! The letter included mention of my exhibition, ‘traces…may contain’ at Artscape Triangle Gallery. Ironically, the location, 30 Abell Street, was the same one that Propeller Art Gallery now occupies. I have always believed in artist run centres and Propeller, being my sixth one to be involved with, represents the best of the best. It offers networking with fellow artists, support and mentorship (including emerging artists), a variety of exhibition opportunities, artist talks and lectures, fundraisers, entertainment and so much more. It is also a hub for sharing ideas, embracing innovative installations and performances and support of multidisciplinary art styles. CONGRATULATIONS, PROPELLER ART GALLERY! I wish you another 30 years of success as a contemporary ‘ARTISTS EMPOWERING ARTISTS’ collective.
