For this exhibition, I decided to explore transforming Washi from a wonderful surface on which I usually paint or print, to a three dimensional sculpture. With this piece I explore both the possibility of dance as well as the current fashionable look of ripped jeans and clothes. This widespread fashion statement turns clothing into “rags” before even being worn. There are many clothes that could be repurposed without needing to create a further environmental challenge of waste with new “rich rags”.
