Eureka! A Selfie is an assemblage of some of the many things I love doing as an artist. Printing on Washi using alginated dyes, firing and glazing small ceramic components, using fibers, collaging my own hand-made papers, and giving antique, patinated materials a new voice. Every time I pull together such an assemblage it is a mini retrospective. It serves as a “Eureka” in self-discovery. This piece is a “re-placement” rather than a large Archimedean “dis-placement”. No large spills have been made, a few drops rather, have been collected- a recovered self-discovery.
