Eyeglasses (to be discarded but instead gifted to me by an optician) provided a new material for my art junk collection; broken ones, samples no
longer needed. I am delighted to breathe new life into their temples (arms), frames and lenses.
This is the first of my Temple Bug series. Bugs can be found everywhere: some beneficial, indeed crucial, for our food supply and maintaining a
healthy environment, others harmful. It’s fun to create my own bugs from eyeglass pieces and to fantasize positive roles in our eco system: perhaps
plastic eaters, carbon suckers, carbon sinkers, smoke inhalers, waste munchers, methane gulpers, grief diffusers!
