This piece was a delight to make. I looked through almost my entire collection of discontinued designer fabric samples and scraps, which I accumulated years ago, in order to choose the ones to use for this work. Having mostly used electronic junk and old eyeglasses in the past number of years, it was wonderful to reacquaint myself with my fabric collection. I also used some old photos that I took years ago when I was making greeting cards.
There was no obvious rhyme or reason to the placement of the squares as I was assembling them, other than lighter in the middle, but certainly now that I have finished it, I start to see some possible underlying reasons for my choices.
For now, however, I just want to enjoy it for the vibrant colour combinations, and the contrast between the square and circle shapes.
