I joined Propeller in the late 90s when we were still on Spadina. I was an active member of the board during the time Stuart Reid curated “Screen 2: Contemplating the electric skin” and Gary Michael Dault curated “Tall Orders: on the spiritual in art.”
I learned a lot through these projects, as well as through a workshop member Mary-Anne Bennusis ran on how to put together a press release.
The community was strong, and I’m still in contact with many Propeller alumni.
We were young, talented, and ambitious, and it made for heated board meetings 🙂
Years after I left Propeller, I was hosting a radio Show on CKLN called Art on Air. I interviewed then-Gallery Administrator Ian Revell about the fact they were not having a Christmas show. He gave a great interview and a year later he followed me to Korea where we started our life together<3
