I have been a member for only a few years, but the experience has already been quite enriching for me. Propeller has acquainted me with artists with diverse ideas and practices, and I’ve learned from them. I enjoy the collaboration of installing and taking down shows, readying the gallery for the next event. Sitting the gallery, too, is rewarding: the quiet of the space, when a visitor has walked in alone and takes in the exhibit, affords a particular kind of art silence that I enjoy. I also like the opportunity and responsibility to mount a solo show every eighteen months or so. I’m really glad Propeller has a permanent home, because places like this are good for artists and good for the city. Bravo to all the artists who have worked hard to build and keep Propeller going.
