I have long done paper collage. One day I realized that the ink on plastic bags sticks to some other kinds of plastic very easily and that I should use this tendency to do another kind of collage. To encourage adhesion, I ironed the plastic together. The pieces stuck fairly well, almost as in collage. This part is not absolutely new to me, but it definitely took me out of my comfort zone; I could feel certain technical difficulties working like sandpaper on my problem-solving brain. What is new is that I have recently laboured to find a method to reduce the gloss on the finished composition. I think I have found one that works reasonably well.
