Vidhushini Nanjappan is a Toronto-based interdisciplinary artist working across mixed
media, sculptural painting, drawing, and found objects. Her abstract practice explores
materiality, structure, and form through experimentation with diverse materials and
processes. With a background in fashion design, her practice evolved from garment construction to visual art, where her interest in texture, composition, and three-dimensional form continues to shape her work. She creates sculptural forms and three-dimensional illusions from two-dimensional surfaces, blending traditional and contemporary techniques. She experiments with a wide range of materials, including plaster, metal wire, found objects, and industrial materials, using them to explore the deeper meanings of life and human experience. Her work has been exhibited at Propeller Art Gallery, Gallery 1313, Northern Contemporary, and Gerrard Art Space, as well as at the Manayunk Art Festival, where she received the Best in Mixed Media award.
