Propeller Member Since 2024

Growing up in Toronto, Christine spent summers at the family cottage and ever since, has preferred the outdoors. For many years exploring the world through adventure racing and hiking trips and now, with a camera.

While self-taught as a wildlife photographer, she credits several professional wildlife photographers whom she has learned from and travelled with. Whether it be technical knowledge, working in difficult environments, understanding animal behaviour or, developing a unique style that resonates with the viewer – many thanks are owed to several very skilled photographic artists.

With a growing portfolio of wildlife and landscape images from international destinations as well as at home in Canada, Christine’s images explore our relationship with animals, the wilderness, and the land.

Christine’s professional background was in commercial real estate investment and management and for many years she worked for one of Canada’s largest investment managers. She currently serves on the Board of the Surrey City Development Corporation (British Columbia) and is a member of the Finance and Development Committees.

As a wildlife photographer, my objective is to create a sense of connection between the viewer and the subject or the scene. I strive to capture animals in their natural habitat without disturbing their routine or changing the environment in which they live. While the story of wildlife on earth can be discouraging, it is more often a story of adaptation and resilience.
I prefer a minimalistic style of photography as it can often help isolate the subject and capture the vastness of the surroundings. My favourite subjects are found both far from home, in remote international destinations and, locally.
The link between humans and the natural world has weakened over time and my goal is to improve this connection through images that have an emotional impact and tell a story. In this way, I hope to increase the level of awareness and understanding of the wilderness and the animals that live within it, as we strive to co-exist.
