Oil is an exhibition of mixed media paintings, depicting practices and mishaps of the oil industry.
“I began working on the “Oil” theme in 2009, with the intention of increasing awareness about these practices, but the bizarre chain of events in the Gulf of Mexico made this series incredibly timely.”
– Uros Jelic
Paintings have expressive, experimental and intuitive quality with paint applied in various ways: spraying, dripping, using brush and roller, stamping, stenciling and drawing with paintsticks. This approach creates diverse textures while preserving the identity of the materials used. The end result is figurative painting with deep exploration into the possible uses of media.
