Heart, Mind, Love at Propeller Art Gallery – ARTORONTO (Kaya Meziane, 02/06/25)
Heart, Mind, Love is a group exhibition from an Open Call featuring 98 works by 80 artists. The show invites visitors to consider how the union of heart and mind shapes our emotions, actions, and experiences of love. Blending artistic interpretation with cultural reflection this exhibition draws inspiration from global concepts of the heart, mind, and love.
When speaking of the heart, Aleut/Innu Elders mean a deep portal of profound interconnectedness and awareness that exists between humans and all living things. Western cultures view the heart and mind as distinct, emotion versus reason, while Eastern cultures view them as heart-mind, source of compassion, wisdom and awakening. Today, the heart’s symbolism thrives in icons and emojis, casually shared from devices every moment.
