I liken these new works to postcards, postcards that are journeying towards an undetermined destination. The words on these pieces of paper are shaped with repetitive lines and scars that hold the memory of different landscapes together. They are reflections of a changing language, my artistic language and the language of a history whose marks can never quite be erased.
In 1997 after attending the University of Fine Arts in Tirana I left Albania and came to North America. After living and working in the United States I moved to Canada in 1999 and began studying at O.C.A.D., completing my 4th year at the collegeās studios in Florence, Italy. I am currently living in Toronto where I continue to explore the language I began developing in Europe.Edgar Ahmetaj
