Coloured Bodies: Material Moves | Dori Vanderheyden

April 10 – 21, 2019

Dori’s talk was a refreshing and exciting conversation about sexuality, colour, humanism and identity. Dori’s exhibition, coloured bodies: material moves is the culminating exhibition of her Master’s Thesis.

Dori Vanderheyden’s work layers and enfolds themes of sexuality, the body and colour as a way to evoke questions of what it means to be a human in the universe at this time. The evocative qualities of light-emitting fluorescent plexiglass were considered as a material body alongside the material human body to negotiate the meaning of relationships between all bodies, human and non-human. This installation work is the culmination of her graduate work for the Interdisciplinary Art, Media and Design MFA, at OCAD University.
