Beyond Landscape is a solo exhibition of artwork from Propeller member Jacques Descoteaux, exploring the distinctions and similarities of abstraction and representation.
Jacques Descoteaux has long been Inspired by Landscape, as the title of his last exhibition suggests. The paintings in this exhibition were completed following an art residency at Cill Rialaig, in Co. Kerry, Ireland in 2015. Through bolder colours and bolder lines, and subtle variations in tone and texture, Descoteaux’s landscape-inspired paintings blur the boundaries between abstraction and representation, between reality and imagination. They take us Beyond Landscape.
