The Arctic is a testament to resilience and adaptation, a place where life endures in the face of relentless challenges.
In Arctic Impressions, I explore the quiet strength of this region—its polar bears and other wildlife navigating the shifting ice and warming temperatures with instinctive grace and fortitude, ancient glaciers standing tall as sentinels of time, and its landscapes evolving under the pressures of climate change.
This collection captures a story of resilience—an intricate balance between fragility and fortitude. The wildlife, adapted to harsh conditions, thrives despite dwindling habitats. The ice, shaped by centuries, responds to warming winds. And, the Arctic itself, which continues to evolve and persevere in the face of change.
These images tell a story of hope, as the natural world demonstrates its remarkable ability to adapt, and a story of responsibility, as we are reminded of the choices that shape its future—and our own.
Art cannot save the planet, but it can make us see, make us feel and, help us care.
Growing up in Toronto, Christine Lundvall spent summers at the family cottage and ever since, has preferred the outdoors. For many years exploring the world through adventure racing and hiking trips and now, with a camera. Focused on the creative and artistic aspects of both wildlife and nature photography, Christine’s objective is to create an emotional connection with the audience and her image.
While self-taught as a photographer, she credits several professional photographers whom she has learned from and travelled with. Whether it be technical knowledge, working with difficult environments or developing a unique style that resonates with the viewer, she owes many thanks to several very skilled photographic artists.
With a growing portfolio of wildlife and landscape images from international destinations as well as at home in Canada, Christine’s images explore our relationship with animals, the wilderness, and the land. By creating a sense of emotion, her work strives to improve the connection between humans and the natural world.
Christine has a professional background in commercial real estate investment and management and for many years, worked for one of Canada’s largest investment managers. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Surrey City Development Corporation (British Columbia) and is a member of the Finance and Development Committees.
